Thanksgiving is an opportunity to deepen our connection with ourselves and others and with the Source from which all life comes.
Being grateful can
lift and light us and others up
give us an expanded perspective on life
help us feel a sense of connection
release endorphins that make us feel good
-
incite generosity and humility
Gratitude is comfort with receiving as much as giving, feeling only connection and no hierarchy between them.
Gratitude is a state of receptivity when we can really truly honour and receive both compliments and feedback. It is an attitude that everything and everyone is here to support our growth in obvious and sometimes challenging ways.
I have also been noticing the relationship between gratitude and generosity.
It's almost like receiving and giving thanks, expands the heart, and allows us to feel safe and abundant to give love and resources including time and money.
Generosity can be about giving someone the benefit of the doubt when you feel hurt by them.
Generosity is offering someone space or yourself to feel their feelings without jumping to fix or rescue.
Generosity is letting yourself or someone you love rest.
Generosity is choosing action that comes from clarity, not action that comes from needing to prove or not feeling good enough.
Generosity is allowing yourself to play, enjoy, and savour life and the full spectrum of its emotions.
Generosity opens hearts. It is the greatest kind of wealth there is, to have an open heart and inspire others to open their hearts in your presence.
This Thanksgiving, I wish you heartfelt gratitude, expansive generosity, and 360-degree wide open heart.
