Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.

How long does the HeartMath® protocol take before I can see results?

Commitment and consistency are the pillars to success. That is why accountability is key part of the HeartMath® Interventions Program.

Depending on whether the condition is acute or chronic, it may take between 4-12 weeks of consistent practice to experience results.

Statistics show incredible results in the impact on heart function, blood pressure, pain and stress management. You may read full reports here.

Is HeartMath® just breathing and connecting with positive emotions?

Although rhythmic breathing exercises can help control your heart rate and have a calming effect on the body, also shifting your attitudes and emotions can achieve much more. Research shows the key to neutralizing and countering the effects of stress is actively adding a positive feeling such as appreciation, care, or compassion to the process.

Experiencing positive emotions has a much broader range of potential health and wellness benefits than rhythmic breathing alone. Generating a positive feeling adds a dynamic element to stress management. Using the breathing pacer found in the emWave® technology in conjunction with positive emotions helps synchronize your nervous system and create positive changes in your heart-rhythm patterns – ultimately building and sustaining coherence and reducing stress.

It is much more than that. The HeartMath Intervention program consists of a series of 5 progressive techniques that build functional skills of the heart and the neuroendocrine system. You will be trained in what techniques to use, how to use them, and when.

Is HeartMath® only for individual use? Can it be used by corporate teams?

It can and is being used by large corporations, community groups, schools, and competitive teams to increase resilience, concentration, and stress management.

The emWave® technology syncs with the HeartCloud, allowing healthy competition in meeting coherence goals among large teams. This enhances pre-frontal cortex functions and enables better decision-making.
