Day 2 : Shruthi Vishwanath : Feminism & Sensuality in Bhakti

Shruthi has through her intense study of spiritual music journeyed through systems of religion and belief, devotional/ Bhakti music as a ritualistic practice and then come home through the music and poetry of Kabir and the female mystics of the Warikari tradition in Western India. This conversation is particularly fascinating because of Shruti's work with feminist perspectives in the practice of Bhakti.
Aside from the key explorations in this summit, in this conversation, we will discover
- Can a woman explore and embody her sensuality and still practice Bhakti yoga
- The living Bhakti heritage of women saints and householders
- Bhakti and walking pilgrimages
- How Bhakti makes 80-year-old women walk 21 km at the speed of lightning during their yatra (spiritual journey) to Pandharpur every year
.....and much more
