Shankar Hemmady Bio

Shankar Hemmady came to Bhakti after an incredible corporate stint, having retired from his career as a technologist in electronic design and biotechnology in early 2016 after serving in various management and consulting roles at over 25 companies based in USA including Abbott Labs, AMD, Cadence, Eli Lilly, Hewlett Packard, Intel, Pfizer, Synopsys and Xerox, and after two companies he invested in became publicly traded billion-dollar companies.  

He completed his teacher training for the Neuroscience of Compassion at Stanford Medical School's CCARE. Shankar has also worked closely with the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a social media champion for the Wisdom 2.0 conference in San Francisco, as well as the Compassion in Business conference at Stanford University. 

Shankar served on the Advisory Board of Project Happiness based in the San Francisco Bay area since 2012-18. The curriculum they developed for social and emotional learning has been downloaded in over 104 countries. 

Shankar Hemmady is the founder and CEO of Green Horizons, a San Francisco based consulting company that has supported startup companies, universities, and social causes since 2012. Since February 2020, Shankar has begun traveling worldwide on his #DanceOfCompassion where he's focused on learning about indigenous arts and cultures while facilitating Transformative and Creative Leadership workshops.
