“I am not an expert, academic, scholar or anyone with any 'standing', I make plenty of mistakes, and am just a person who connects with the sounds of Sanskrit and the ancient texts. The 'work' I do is simply an ever unfolding and continuous exploration of the power and impact of the sounds of sanskrit on the human psyche (in this case, my own!) ... and a continuous delving into the richness of the Sanskrit textual tradition.
Because of my love of the purity of the sounds of Sanskrit and deep seated love of music, I have found myself combining the two to sing songs in Sanskrit, some traditional melodies, some composed by me, and these are a gift from me to the ears of all who hear, and sounds that I hope contribute to the raising of the level of consciousness and awaken the heart of the listener to return back home to themselves.
This is my life's calling and I am and always have been prepared to sacrifice everything so that I can carry on giving the gift of my heart in song. When I sit down to sing and connect to it I am completely lost to the song, I am no longer even 'alive', but am lost, merged, disappeared, given up to the song, to the sound, each and every syllable part of each and every cell of my body.”
